After we manage in advance you scheduled or chartered flights, We will pick you up from your hotel in Dar Es Salaam and transfer to domestic terminal for your 1 hour flight to Selous Game Reserve. Upon our arrival we will explain you the main facts about the reserve and we will enjoy our first game drive with a stop to have lunch.
We will have 2 full days in the Selous Game Reserve exploring the wildlife by foot, boat and 4 wheel drive vehicle. Dinner and overnight at public camp site or lodge.
Selous Game Reserve is the largest reserve in Africa, covering 54,600 square kilometer. The reserve gets its name from the hunter and explorer Frederick Courtney Selous. He was killed here during the 1º World War. Selous is famous for Elephants and other species commonly seen like Lions, Wild dogs, Buffaloes, Bushbuck, Impalas, Elands, Baboons, Zebras and Greater kudus. It was originally set aside as a hunting area although it also has great areas for safari games. Optional walking safari with an armed ranger in this beautiful and wild reserve is a highly recommended experience not to be missed. In spite of its huge size, Selous has relatively few tourists. It also gives shelter to one of the Tanzania's few Rhino reserves.
After breakfast, transfer to Mtemere airstrip for a 1 hour 45 minutes flight to Ruaha National Park. Upon our arrival we will explain you the main facts about the reserve and we will enjoy our first game drive.
Ruaha is specially famous for big cats. It also one of the last santuaries for endangered wild dogs. You also can find out there several antelope species that are rare or absent in northern Tanzania, such as Greater and Lesser Kudu, Roan and Sable antelope.
Lunch in camp followed by game drives in the area.
You will enjoy 2 full days exploring Ruaha National Park by car and on foot. Ruaha River offers some excellent game walks in high density game areas accompanied by armed rangers.
Its name comes from Ruaha River. Covering 13,000 square kilometers. Ruaha National Park is a vast area with relatively low density of turists so it gives you the oportunity to feel part of an unadulterated wilderness. Ruaha is also a paradise for birds lovers thanks to its excellent birding opportunities.
After enjoying a relaxing breakfast in the middle of the nature, morning departure to Msembe airstrip to have your flight back.
